Kerala Sarkara Devi Temple
This temple is dedicated to goddess Bhadrakali and has an important place in all the temples of Kerala. Two famous towns namely Varkala and Attingal are located in the close vicinity of this temple. Travancore King ATM Varma constructed this temple with European style in 1748. Though, it was opposed at that period that leaving aside the traditional temple constructional style, a new pattern is being adopted to construct the temple. In that temple, Raja and Rani of Travancore started a tradition to organize the festival of Kaliyoot. Construction assistance was shouldered by Raja of Travancore.
Architecture
This temple was originally constructed in European style of construction. At that time four halls in square shape were constructed with two halls in double stories. Entire building has sloppy roves with adequate natural lighting arrangements. Boundary of the halls is supported with pillars without any carving on interior or exterior portion. In the middle portion of the temple, there is a Garbhagriha where the idol off main deity is seated. Earlier four entrances were provided but all are closed except one the major entrance. This temple is like a picnic spot also as outside the temple there is a large ground for entertaining of the devotees and visitors. A high shed is also constructed in front of the temple for organizing various religious activities.
Festivals
In this temple main festival celebrated is Mahashivaratri. Except this, Kaliyoot and Meenabharaani festival is also celebrated.

Trivandrum is the rail head located at a distance of 29 kilometers and well connected with buses and taxies.

This temple is located at 25 kilometers from nearest bus terminus. State transport buses and private are available at affordable charges.
