According to Hindu mythology, Lord Sree Krishna is among one of the Adi-shaktis or fundamental universal source of energy. The temple structure is surrounded by lush green trees.
History
However, there is still no proper history available regarding the origin and construction of this sacred worship place yet it is believed that it was constructed during the 11th of century. According to Hindu mythology, lord Krishna is the only mysterious God who is omnipotent and omnipresent. Legend says, centuries ago, there was a Krishna temple which was believed to Swayambhu or self originated. However, after sometime it was destroyed due to some unknown reasons. Once, a sage called Jwala Swamy visited the temple ruins, he decided to rebuild it. He visited the King’s palace and asked for the money to build the temple. The king was also a great follower of Lord Sree Krishna and agreed to finance all the expenditure. However, there is also another folklore regarding the origin of the sacred temple, once an old saint visited the town. He discovered an idol of Lord Sri Krishna and decided to build a temple for Krishna.
Architecture
The temple brought its architecture from ancient Hindu style of architecture which can be seen all other parts of south India. The sculptures on the temple’s walls show the mythological stories of Lord Shree Krishna. Here, devotees can witness the sculpture related to Lord Sree Krishna and King Arjuna. Apart from that the main hall of the temple is adored with various mural and paintings. Moreover, the exterior walls of the temple show the stories of Krishna Ras Lila or the spiritual relationship between Goppies and Lord Krishna.
