Karnataka Svv Temple Gurpur
The SVV temple is the temple of “Varadaraja” , the idol of panchaloha adorned with precious jewels along with a shanka, lotus and chakra in his hands. There is also a vanmala on the idol and is accompanied by two mother goddess Sridevi and Bhoomidevi at the place in the center of the temple. Varadaraja is the moola deity of the SVV temple. Sri Kashi Math Samsthan is the main source of guidance behind the management of the temple.
The elegant and divine idol of Lord Vishnu is known as “Veera Venkatesha”. The idol of Vishnu is having a sword alongside his idol which demonstrates the veerata, symbolizing the name given. In the temple, there is a Garbha Gudi , which also has the idol of Lord Srinivasa, this idol was given by Shri Gokkarnamutt Parthagali Jeevotham Matadish Shrimad Indirakanth Theertha Swami in the year 1905. The idol was brought through the route of Basrur, Kundapur by the member trustees of the temple. Lord Srinivasa is the idol of Utsava, therefore it is taken out of the temple during the car festival of the temple each year.
History
In the 17th century, the foundation of the temple was done also known as Prathista. The prathista was made by Sri H. H. Madhavendra Swami. In 1712, it was originally prathista and the punar-prathista was made in the year 1952.
Rituals performed
The daily offerings and Pujaare performedfor all the devathas including Shri Ganapati Maharaja, Goddess Laxmi, Shri Garuda and Shree Mukhyaprana which are situated at all four sides of the temple along with the idol of Lord Vishnu. The daily rituals are done based on the traditions of the Madhwa tradition, such as, Panchamratha, Gangabhisheka, Sahasra Naamarchane, Nandadeepa and Pulakabhisheka. This process of offerings in followed by the Tilak ceremony of the idols in the temple.
Festival
The Car festival is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm and pomp show in which thousands of devotees participate from different places of India. It is famous festival which is celebrated in the temple. Other festivals are also celebrated with the same amount of livelihood. People make offerings in large amount as the symbol of their devotion and worship towards the god.

There are various modes of transports available to reach Gurpur such as by air, road or railways. The airway is the best option therefore people should opt for the nearest airport to Gurpur and then hire a connecting transport to reach the destination such as taxi or bus. The personal transport is the best option to reach the temple.
