Karnataka Dharmaraya Swamy Temple
According to the history of India, the sacred place wherein Dharmaraya Swamy temple is located was known as Kalyanapuri. Kalyanapuri means a city of ponds, temples and religious centres. However, later the town was called as Bendhakaluru and finally it got its present name Bengaluru. Visitors or pilgrims all over the country visit at Dharmaraya Swamy temple to have Darshan of Pandavas.
History
However, there is no proper evidence found regarding the history of this Pandavas temple yet it is said it was built around 800 years ago. The renowned Dharmaraya Swamy temple is located at Bangalore in state Karnataka, India. According to the legend, the temple was built by local Ganga Arasu community. These people or community is also called Vanniya Kula Kshatiriya and migrated from northern part of India such as Tamil Nadu, Neelagiri, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri areas. As per the folklore, the Ganga Arasu or Gonga Arasu kings constructed their cities close to river as well as set up various temples. The renowned Dharmaraya Swamy temple was among one of them. It is also said that when the town was constructed by famous Kempe Gowda during 16th of century, the sacred Kempegowda towers also were set up in four sides of the town keeping Dharmaraya Swamy Mandir or temple as a main point.
Architecture
However, the temple has been painted and renovated in 2009 yet it resembles ancient architectural style of famous Gangas, Vijayanagara and Pallavas. The Garbhagriha was designed in Ganga architecture, Vimanagopura in Pallava and Mukhmantapa in the architectural style of Vijayanagara. However, during the 20th of century, the fourth level of renovation of temple was done in Sabhangana and Rajagopura style.

By Road

Weather and Time to Reach
The climate conditions of Bangalore are changeable. It means during winters the city becomes cold and while in summers it becomes hot and humid. However, during the monsoons it experiences often heavy rainfall. So the best time to visit at Dharmaraya Swamy temple is from October to March.
