Jharkhand Naulakha Mandir
Jharkhand is a land of ancient Hindu worship places. The renowned Naulakha Mandir or temple is one of them. Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha are the main deities of the temple. The temple is also known for its historical background and much religious significance. History
The history of the temple is very distinguished in context of local folklore. The temple resembles the architecture of renowned Ramakrishna Mandir of Belur city. The temple encompasses sacred idols of lord Krishna and Radha ranging around 146 feet high.
There is a story behind the name of Naulakha mandir. According to local folklore, queen of Pathuria Ghat, Charushila became frustrated when she faced the incredible deaths of her son and husband. Hence, she left the palace and went to forest wherein she met Saint Balananda Brahmachari who asked queen to build a temple for Radha Krishna. So she constructed Naulakha Mandir. It is a fact that the total amount spent of constructing this temple was nine lakhs thus the temple became famous as Naulakha Mandir. The sacred sculptures in the temple show the Leela of lord Krishna. During the Hindu festivals, visitors or pilgrims from all over the country gather here in order to have sacred Darshan of Lord Radha-Krishna.
How to Reach
By Air
Visitors or pilgrims can easily reach here by using air-transport. Some of the nearest airports are Gaya airport only 200 km, Ranchi airport 213 km and Patna airport 226 km distance from Deogarh town.
By Rail
Some of the nearest railway stations are Baidyanathdham railway station only 1 km, Salsang Nagar railway station also 1 km and Jasidih junior railway station 6 km distance from Deogarh town. So visitors or devotees can easily reach there by using Indian railway transport facility.
By Road
Reaching at Naulakha Mandir by using roadways is very easy. Visitors or pilgrims can easily get local transportation such as buses, cabs and taxis.
Weather and Time to Visit
Deogarh presents a bit difference between winters and summers. During the winters (from November to February) the town temperature ranges from 14 degree Celsius to 29 degree Celsius while during summers (from April to August) temperature ranges from 39 degree Celsius to 43 degree Celsius. Hence the best time to get there is from October to March. However, devotees can also visit at Naulakha Mandir or temple during the religious festivals.
