Jharkhand Ajgaivinath Temple
This sacred Hindu worship place is constructed on stone and has various important religious sculptures as well as inscriptions. The worship place is also called Gaibinath Mahadeva temple. According to the folklore, Bhagwana Shivaji was provided his bow at this place, now called as Aigav thus the area came to be famous as Aigaivinath.
History
The history regarding the Ajgaivinath temple is still a mystery and none knows the exact time and date of its origin. According to the Hindu mythology, Bhagwana Shiva, the creator and destroyer of the universe was provided his bow at this sacred place which is now called Aigav and thus the area also called Aigaivinath.
However, the olden name of this sacred area was Jahangira that derived after the name of great Jahnu saint. Moreover, it is a known fact that Jahangira is a vague form of famous Jahnu giri or mountain of Jahnu or also called Jahnu Griha, a sacred abode of saint Jahnu. However, Jahangira area is presently a tiny town forming an important part of village of Sultanganj or Sultangang. Apart from its mythological importance, the temple is a master piece of ancient Indian architecture. The important sculptures in the temple describe the sacred actions of Lord Shiva. Hence, due to its religious significances, pilgrims or visitors from all over the country visit here to get the blessings of Lord Shiva.

By Air

By Rail or Train
It is a known fact that Deogarh city is well connected with other important neighbouring cities or towns by railway networks. Hence, visiting at Ajgaivinath temple is very easy by using railway transport. Some of the nearest railway stations are Baidvanathdham railway station 1 km, Satsang nagar railway station also 1 km and Jasidih junior railway station 6 km far from Sultangang village.
By Road
Village Sultangang is well linked with other towns and villages of the state by roads. Hence, visitors or pilgrims can easily find local road-transportation such as busses, cabs and taxis to reach at Ajgaivinath temple.
Weather and Time to Visit
The climate conditions in the area are just like other parts of Jharkhand state. It means while summer, the area becomes hot and scorching and during winters it becomes very cold. Hence the best time to visit at Ajgaivinath temple is from October to March.
