Gujarat Ranchhodrai Temple Junagadh
The temple lies at the banks of sacred Gomti Lake. It is greatly covered with 24 turrets and 8 domes. Moreover, the central dome of the temple is 27 m high. The sacred temple is crowned with golden-colored Kalashand and a white flag. However, it is not so rich in important carving; the center cupola derives its beauty from Maharashtra kind of architecture. Moreover, the center hall or area of the temple has important sculptures related to the life of Bhagwana Shri Krishna.
History
It is said that Ranchhodji, meaning person who left war area which is also used as a name of Bhagwana Shri Krishna. The Gopal J. Ambekar who was a shroff in the court of Peshwa of Puna state, highly inspired by it. One day Gopal dreamt that he should construct a magnificent and vast temple in the area. Hence, during 1772, Ranchhodrai temple was constructed under his supervision. The presiding deity of the temple, Shri Ranchhodrai is in dark touchstone, only one meter tall and around 45 centimeter in breadth. The idol is adorned with jewels, expensive clothes and gold. Moreover, the throne of the idol is a masterpiece of artistic woodcarving and plated in gold and silver. This throne was gifted by Broda state’s Gaekwad.
Architecture
The architecture of Ranchhodrai temple is exclusive in terms of religious arts. This sacred Hindu worship place shows the artistic images and designs. The Shikharas of the temple was designed in such manner that it displays the spiritual light all over the area. There is also a music hall, called Tokorkhana. Devotees can enjoy the spiritual music and songs after every three hours in a day.

By Road
Visitors or pilgrims can easily find ST and private buses to reach at the temple as Gujarat state is known for its well-developed roads.
By Rail or Train
It is very easy to get a train to reach at Ranchhodrai temple as the town is well connected with other parts of the country by railway networks. However, the nearest railway stations are Anand and Nadiad railway stations.

The closest airport to the town is situated at Vadodara only 78 km distance from Junagadh town.
Weather And Time to Visit
The climate of the town is like all other parts of Gujarat state, means it remains cool in winter and scorching in summer. Hence the best to visit at Ranchhodrai temple is during the month of October to March.
