Bihar The Mandar Hill Temple
This sacred worship structure is connected to salvation of holy 12th Teerthankara Vasupoojiya Swamiji. The temple is also highly connected with three important Kalvankas of Vasupoojya such as Tup or yoga practice, Gyan or knowledge and Moksha or ultimate salvation of human being. At this sacred place, the holy Vasupoojya Swamiji accepted sacred penance and gained spiritual knowledge and then went to ultimate salvation or Moksha. According to Hindu mythology, Moksha is considered as the ultimate goal of human life.
History
According to the Hindu mythology, this place is the place wherein famous Sagar Manthan was performed by Devas and Asuras. Hence, due to its religious significance this temple has been placed amongst the most sacred worship places of India. However, the archaeological history of the temple is still unknown and there is no proper evidence that when the temple was constructed. However, according to legend, the temple was constructed centuries ago. In spite of its unknown history one thing is sure that the temple has significance religious importance that makes it different from all other temples in the area.
The famous Mandar Mountain is around 700 feet in height. Moreover, Due to its mythological significance, devotees all around the country visit here everyday.

By Air
Patna airport only 242 km, Gaya airport about 246 km and Bagdogra airport around 254 km are the nearest railheads. Hence, visitors or devotees can reach at the temple by using Indian railway transportation service.
By Rail or Train
It is very easy to reach at Mandar Hill Mandir or temple by using rail transport. However, some of the nearest rail heads are including Punsia railway station only 12 km, Dhauni Railway station 12 km and Barahat railway station also 12 kilometres far from Mandal hill area.
By Road
Mandal hill area is also well linked with other important neighbouring cities or towns by well developed roads. Hence, for getting a way to reach at Mandar hill Mandir or temple is very easy. Visitors or pilgrims can easily find government as well as private runs buses vehicles and cab at nearby areas.
Weather and Time to Visit
The weather temperature at the Mandal hill area typical humid and hot during summer and while winter it become often very cold due to its 700 feet height. Hence, visitors or pilgrims are suggested to reach here during the months of October to March. However, pilgrims or visitors can reach at Mandar hill Mandir or temple throughout the year. So it depends on visitors which time he or she like to visit at Mandar Hill temple.
