Bihar The Durga Temple
According to the legend, Maa Durga who is considered as the source of energy or Shakti is always ready to bless her devotees. The structure of Durga temple of Gopalganj, Bihar shows its religious significances. Pilgrims or visitors from all over the country visit here to have Darshan of Maa Durga especially in the festival season of Navaratri. According to the Hindu mythology, the temple is the abode of Maa Durga who is believed to fulfil the needs or prayers of her devotees or followers.
History
This sacred temple was constructed by Raja Manam Singh of Chero dynasty. However, there is a saying about him that the king was very arrogant and assumed that he was the only true devotee of Maa Durga. Hence, due to his unkind nature, people of his reign used be afraid him. Once, there was a big natural calamity happened and common people had to die due to starvation. No one had the idea how to get out of that problem. However, even that crucial time, the unkind king asked money from his poor people in the state. Hence all the people in the state went to meet another true devotee of Maa Durga named Rahashu Bhagat. They requested him to take them out of that natural calamity. Then Rahashu Bhagat prayed to Maa Durga who came live to him and ordered to him to serve food to common people that she would provide. When the king heard about it he called Rahashu Bhagat and insisted him to call Maa Durga in order to prove his true Bhakti towards Maa Durga. So Rahashu Bhagat prayed to Maa Durga who came and blessed only him but people and king as well.
This is the main reason, it is said that whoever come here in order to resolve his or her problem would be blessed by Maa Durga. Hence due to its miracle feature, this temple is very famous and sacred among the devotees or followers of Maa Durga.

By Air

The weather of the Gopalganj city is usually like other parts of Bihar state, means hot in summer and cool in winter. However, visitors can visit at Durga Temple on the months of October to March. But devotees want to have religious blessings and Darshan need to visit during festival season such as Navaratri.
