Assam Sukreswar Temple
The temple is dedicated to Bhagwana Shiva, the creator and destroyer of the universe. Lord Shiva is the main deity of this sacred temple. The sacred temple is situated on the top of local Itakhuli or Sukreswar mountains just on the south-side bank of holy Brahmaputra River. This ancient temple was built during the 18th of century. Moreover, the Sukreswar temple has largest Shivalinga in the county (India). Pilgrims or devotees all over the county visit here to have Darshan of divine Shivalinga which is considered to have spiritual power or supernatural power to fulfil all the wishes.
History
This sacred temple was established in the year of 1744 by Pramatta Singha, king of Ahom. However, later Rajeswar Singha, the king also renovated and promoted this sacred temple and supported financially. Rajeswar Singha renovated this temple during 1759. There are greatly designed steps that lead to Holy River and make it worth reachable. The river is the place wherein people pray for their late relatives. Moreover, while sitting on these steps visitors can have an amazing sun-rising view.

By Air

By Rail
it is very easy to reach at Sukreswar temple by using transport services of Indian Railway. Some of the important railway stations are including Azara railway station only 11 km, Amin Gaon railhead about 13 km and Mirza railway station around 14 km far from Sukreswar area.
By Road
