Assam Navagraha Temple
Here in this temple, total nine sacred Shiva lingams are installed that represent the important nine divine figures. Moreover, each celestial figure is embodied with colourful garment that display the importance of each divine bodies. However, the Shiva lingam, situated at the centre representing sun. This is the main reason, pilgrims from all over the country visit Navagraha temple throughout the year.
History
It was constructed by Rajeswar Singha, the Ahom king during the 18th of century. The sacred temple has been also renovated or rebuild in recent past during 1923 to 1945. According to the Hindu mythology, the Navagraha temples are basically devoted to sacred Navagraha or planet that represents the nine main celestial figure or Grahas of astronomy of Hindu religion. However, these important celestial figures are including Sun or Surya, Chevvaai Mangal or Mars, Chandra or Moon, Buddha or Mercury, Shukra or Venus, Guru Brahaspati or Jupiter, Rahu or northern lunar node, Shani Saturn and southern lunar nod or ketu. It is important to know that most of the temples in the southern part of India have at least one shrine that should be devoted to sacred Navagrahas.
According to Hindu mythology, the terminology for Navagraha temples demotes to a group of nine separate temples and each should have a home of one of sacred Navagrahams. The sacred Navagraha temple is considered as an important Hindu temple that brings prosperity and good fortune for all the devotees who come here.

By Air
Borihar airport only 9 km, Shillong airport around 84 km and Salonibari airport about 152 km are the nearest airports. Hence, visitors can use them to reach at this sacred temple.
By Rail
Reaching at the temple by using rail-transportation could be good idea. Some of the nearest railway stations are including Azara railway station only 11 km, Amin Gaon railway station around 13 and Mirza railway station about 14 km far from Guwahati city.
By Road
The Guwahati city has a facility of well developed roads that connect it to all other major towns or cities of the state. So visitors or pilgrims can easily find here road-based transport such as buses, cabs and private vehicles.
Weather and Time to Visit
The temperature of winter at Guwahati city ranges from 10 degree Celsius to 20 degree Celsius and summer season ranges from 25 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius. Hence, pilgrims or visitors can visit at Navahraha temple of Guwahati throughout the year. However, the best time to discover it is between the months of November to months of March.
