Andhra Pradesh Vemulavada Rajanna Temple
The sacred Hindu worship place called Vemulavada Rajanna temple is located only 11 km distance from North east of town Sirsilla and around 36 km far the centre city Karimnagar. The sacred temple is devoted to its main deity called Rajarajeswara who is believed to be one of the incarnations of Lord Shiva. It is considered among the most visited pilgrims in the district. History
The renowned Vemulavada Rajanna temple was constructed by Kakatiya ruler during the 13th of century. This ancient temple is considered among the oldest Hindu worships in the state of Andhra Pradesh. According to Hindu mythology, the lord Rajarajeshwara once visited the location as he wanted to perform his penance at this place. Hence, it is believed that Rajarajeswara who is one of the incarnations of Hindu God Shiva declared the city as one of the sacred towns of the country. Remember, the festival of Mahashivratri is highly celebrated at this temple town.
