Andhra Pradesh Veerabadra Swamy Temple
The prominent Veerabadra Swamy temple is a Hindu worship place. This sacred Hindu worship place is devoted to its main deity called Veerabadra. The temple is surrounded by hillock and attracts not only devotees but visitors also. Moreover, the ancient temple is considered among the most visited sacred Hindu worship places in the district of West Godavari.
History
The sacred Veerabadra Swamy Temple was constructed by Chalukya-Chola kings during the 13th of century. The location wherein this sacred temple is situated is famous for its natural beauty. The sacred Hindu worship place lies on famous Devakuta Parvatha or mountain just in the centre of river Godavari. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Veerabadra was born out of Lord Mahesh's hair during his sacred Tandava or spiritual dance on sighting his own wife getting burnt in holy fire of the religious Yagana which was conducted by renowned Dakhsa. The temple is famous for its sacred Idol of Nandi or cow and various dancing images of Lord Shiva. However, the main attraction of the temple is the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali.
Weather and time to visit
The temple can be visited throughout the year however the best time to get there is from the month of March to October. Moreover, devotees can also visit here during the festival of Mahashivratri.
