Andhra Pradesh Tirumala Venkateswara Temple
Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is one of the most popular temples of Hindus. The main deity here is Lord Vishnu who is worshipped in this temple in the form of Lord Venkateswara. The temple is located in the hill town Tirumala which is situated near Tirupati in the Chittor district of Andhra Pradesh State.
The temple is on Venkatdari, which is one of the seven hills of Tirumala so the temple is also known as Saptagiri or Temple of Seven Hills. Lord Venkateswara is also known as Balaji, Govinda or Srinivasa.
Tirumala Temple is one of the richest temples in the world. This is one of the most visited temples also. About 1to 2 lakh people visit this temple every day and the number becomes double during the religion ceremonies or festival days.
History
Tirumala Venkateswara Temple was constructed by Thondaniman who was the ruler of Thondaimandalam, ancient Tamil State. The temple was supposed to be created in 300 BC. The Gopuram (entrance) and the Prakaras (outer walls) were built by Thondaiman and then during the rule of the Chola Kings and the Pallava Kings, the temple had its development done and attained a new look. The rulers of Vijayanagara Empire (14-15th Century) donated much gold and jewels to the temple.
How to Reach
By Air
There is no airport in Tirumala town. Reningunta Airport in Tirupati Town is the nearest airport which is only 41 km from Tirupati Temple. It is a domestic airport and daily flights are available from here. The nearest international airport from the Tirupati Temple is the Chennai Airport which is 131 km away.
By Rail
There is no railway station in the Tirumala Hilly Area. The closest railway station is Tirupati. Tirupati is well connected with the other important railway stations of south India. Many trains are available on a daily basis from Tirupati.
By Road
To visit Venkateswara Temple, one has to reach the Tirupati Town first which is about 22 km away from the temple. The visitors can take cars to reach the temple or they can even walk down to the temple. Tirupati is well connected to the major cities of south India with regular bus services.

The climate adjacent to the Venkateswara Temple is hot & wet in summer and dry & pleasant in winter. Winter is the best time to visit the temple.
Summer Season
Summer season is from end-February to June. During this season temperature range varies between 26°C and 38°C. The average temperature during this season is about 34°C.
Winter Season: Winter season is from November to mid-February. The temperature range is between 18°C and 29°C. The average temperature during this season is about 20°C.

The monsoon season continues from mid-Jun to end-September. The weather remains hot and humid. The average annual rainfall during this season is about 91 cm.

No public hotels or accommodations are available in Tirumala. The visitors can get lots of guest houses managed by Tirupati Tirunala Devasthanam Trustee.
Rules and Rituals of The Temple
The visitors must put on formal clothes Dhoti, saree and taking alcohol and eating non-veg foods are not allowed within the temple premise. No mobile phone or cameras are allowed inside the temple.
