Andhra Pradesh Sri Nameswara Swamy Temple Ventrapragada
Sri Nameswar Swami temple is located in Ventrapragada village in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the oldest temples and Lord Shiv in the form of Nameswara Swami is the primary deity of the temple. The temple of Ventrapragada is about 30 km from Vijayawada and 9km from Gudivada. Shivlingam has name like nowhere else in the world, thus the name Nameswar is given to this temple. Lingam is believed to be long and deep rooted which has no end found but its depth was measured first with the well in temple when it was discovered.
It is believed by the local people that couples who wish for child come to visit this temple and name their Children on the name of Lord Nameswar like Nameshwari, Nameshwar Rao, Namesh etc. It is believed wishes are fulfilled by Nameshwar Swami if one does Pradakshina around the temple 108 times for 108 days.
Festivals like Shivratri, Ramnavmi and Dussehra is celebrated by villagers with great joy every year. Temple is decorated with large and beautiful Rangoli on occasion of Sankranti and celebrated as festival of harvesting. Temple structure is unique. Idols of Veerbhadra Swami and his wife who is the guardian of the village are built in the temple. Krishna River flows by the side of the temple and is used for farming of Rice, Wheat and Sugarcane and irrigational purposes. The stream provides irrigation for about 1000 acres Farms. Shirdi Sai Baba temple is another pilgrimage in the same village near to Nameshwar temple.

Ventrapragada is situated 30 km from Vijayawada and 9 km from . The village has a bus station and an old railway station. Local transport and Vehicles are available in town to reach temple.
