Andhra Pradesh Ramappa Temple
Ramappa temple is one of the temples dedicated to lord Shiva located in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh. Exact location of this temple is 77 kilometers far from the main city. Hyderabad is 157 kilometers far from here and well connected with various ways of transportation. It is evident that architect Ramappa constructed this temple and has the pride to be the only temple in the world known by the name of its sculptor not from the name of deity.  Presently Archeological Survey of India (ASI) is maintaining the temple. The main entrance of the temple (from exterior side) has been ruined.
History
This temple was considered to be build by Kakatiyan kings. Though, correct determination of the construction date is not possible as no historical evident are available regarding that but according to a sculpture inside the temple complex, this temple was constructed during 1213 and by the Army chief Recherla Rudra of Kakatiyan king Ganapaty Deva. In general public it is believed that Ganapaty Deva has constructed this temple when he dreamt Lord Shiva in the form of a bird having Jatas and snakes.  After continuous three days of such dream he initiated this work and constructed the magnificent temple in Dravidian style. According to the evidences, 40 year were invested in construction of this temple.
Architecture
This temple is constructed in Hoysala constructional pattern as the base of the temple is sufficient high from the normal ground level and molding are provided in the same. No carvings are on exterior portion of the temple. Gopuram is constructed in the line of temple, ignoring the traditional pattern. Pillars outside the temple are straight and without any carvings. A central hall is on the right side of the Garbhagriha, which is also the main entrance of the temple. The central hall is having the roof in rock cut style and supported on simple pillars. Inside the central hall, there is the carving exhibit at every step. Square based pillars having rising upto the 4ft and then stone discs including carving upto the roof beam of central hall. All the pillars are made of black stone and fine carving is made on them. This carving is stylish and has a deep shining. The pillars are sufficient thicker. More than 50 pillars are in central hall and unique design of these pillar segregate them with other temples located in the state. As per historical evidences, this temple was planned and designed by Ramappa, the famous sculptor of that era. Gopuram on Garbhagriha is constructed with bricks and the bricks are much lighter in weight and also can float on water. A giant Nandi of black stone is constructed in sitting posture outside the temple.

Hyderabad is the nearest airport located at 157 kilometers from this temple. Road connectivity from Hyderabad airport to this location is good and various means of conveyances are also easily available at regular interval.
By Rail
Hyderabad New Kachiguda is the nearest railway station located at 133 kilometers. Road transports are available. Palampet is the best junctions for going to Ramappa temple.
By Road
At 19 kilometers from Mulugu division this temple is located. Palampet is the nearest bus station. This station is 50 kilometers away from main Warangal city. In a close vicinity of 6 kilometers, another Shiva temple is located.
