Andhra Pradesh Kalibari
The word Bari is from Bengali language which carries the meaning of Home or house. The temple is located at 700 meters towards Secunderabad. Total distance between Hyderabad and Secunderabad is 7.7 kilometers. Goddess Kali is the main deity of this temple. Every year in the month of November and December, Kali Puja and Durga Pooja are celebrated in this temple at large scale. Pattern of the celebration is pure Bengali.
History
The process to establish desired Kalibari in Hyderabad was begun in 1974 with the land donation by Late Shri S. Madhusudan Reddy. He wanted a Kali temple built in Hyderabad. Some zealous persons came forward and their organisation made the desired dream come true. During 1976, the beautiful temple was completed with the establishment of idol of Maa Kali, which was purchased from Chitpur. Swami Ranganathanandaji, who was the chief of Ramakrishna Mission Hyderabad, established the idol of Maa Kali in this temple and officially inaugurated it. Shri A.K. Ganguly has the pride to be the first ever priest of this temple.
Festivals
Kali and Durga Pooja on the occasions of Dipawali and Dussehra are organized in this temple at large scale and beside it on the occasion of Amavasya, special Kali Pooja is also organized. Devotees across the country come here to celebrate the occasion. This temple also runs a school for free education to the wards. In this school, dance and singing also taught to the students.
