Gudiyatham is a municipality in Vellore in Tamil Nadu. It is located 31 km away from the city of Vellore. It is around 172 km from Chennai & 165 km from Bangalore. It is situated near the boundary of Andhra Pradesh .It has many other villages than 500 little villages.The recently made National Highway 234 passes by it starting by Mangalore to Villupuram to Chintamani, Sira, Pernambut, V.Kota, Katpadi, Gudiyattam, Vellore. Tiruvannamalai Gangai amman Temple is also located here and is very famous for its yearly carnival from May 1415 and attracts thousands of people from several places. It is mainly famous for its fair and is located on the bank of Goundanya Maha nadhi. The Ragu, suriyan, Sukran, Kethu, Sani, Guru, Buthan, Santhiran, & Ankarakan. These are the total nine gods in this temple . This temple is 1920 squire feet wide .The Republic India's first national flag was made here. It has a flourishing small scale sector industries manufacturing lungis, safety matches, and beedis. Its main vocal language is Tamil. People are mostly farmers, weavers, protective matches factory worker & beedis works.It was one of the utmost prevalent place for leprosy of the country. Until now the region has not joined the WHO.
