Thiruvallur district has Gummidipoondi,which the Industrial town of Tamil Nadu in India. It lies between Chennai to Calcutta National Highway. This highway is the part of the Golden Quadrilatteral. Shriram Fibers Limited takeover the Dupont Fibers, which is the 8th major producer of nylon tyre in the world. It has many another industries like 50 steel plats, rolling mills etc. In this area Steel plants play main role for the development. It also has Bharat Petroleum LPG filling plant near New Gummidipoondi. It has modern substation of TNEB in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Petrochemicals Limited also produce 60MW & 6MW by Hitech carbon. Tamil language is the main language of the Gummidipoondi. Here, Vanniyar and Mudaliyar are the main communities. Gummidipoondi has 52% males &48% females population. Gummidipoondi literacy rate is very high. Males are 77% literate & females are 63%. The Major occupation of Gummidipoonnispeople are fishing & agriculture, which is turn into Industrial Jobs.
