Sirkali is one tehsil in district of Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu state of Southern India. Its location is 13 kilometers distance from Bay of Bengal coast and 250 kilometers distance from Chennai capital of state. It is birthplace of Tirugnanasambandar, a Saiva saint and foremost of Saiva Nayanars, belongs to 7th century. History of this town revolves around Sattainathar Temple, dedicates to Hindu god, Shiva. A 2nd grade municipality administers it. This town is one part of delta region of Cauvery River and major occupation is agriculture. Roadways are a major means for transportation and a national highway also pass through this town. An ancient temple, Bhramapureeswarar temple is here and dedicates to Shiva, Hindu god having 3 various Shiva shrines. Temple of Kazheesirama Vinnagaram dedicates to Hindu god, Vishnu in Trivikrama form. There are 11 Vishnu temples located in Sirkalis outskirts. Every year, during January they organize an annual festival, Garudasevai, which attracts pilgrims in thousands. This town got its 1st English school during 1896. A major base of occupation for people of here is activities in service sector. With paddy as a primary crop, agriculture is up to limited extent. It also does not have any major industry, leaving some rice mills.
