Shantinath Jain Trithankar Jaipur
The sixteenth Jain Tirthankar was Shantinath. It has been said that he became a siddha. Being a siddha means a person who has destroyed all of its karma. He was the son of Queen Achira Rani and King Viswasen Raja. He was born in the Ikshvaku clan at Hastinapur.
History
The Jain Teerthankar Shantinath temple is a popular temple which belongs to the Digamber Sect. The current form of the temple is maintained and developed with the support from Tarachand Jain who was a devotee. It is home to a library having many collections of important books, manuscripts and scriptures.
Architecture
The temple is situated on the south west of Badi Gate in Jamnagar and has many intricate carvings. The walls have also been embellished with lots of fine murals which represent the life of Jain saints. Marble is what has been used to build the floor of this temple and is enriched with distinctive Jain patterns in, black, yellow, white and red.
