Sai Baba Machilipatnam Andhra Pradesh

The Sai Baba Temple is situated in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh is very famous and is visited by vast number of devotees each day. It is well known for its huge statue of Sai Baba.

Origin

The Sai Baba temple was established by Lakshmipuram Vittal Rao, who was a one of the devotees of Sai Baba from his early days. The idol of Sai Baba was placed in 1994 made up of cement. The idol was fixed on the occasion of Vijayadashami.

Major Attraction

The major attraction of this temple is the biggest Sai Baba statue. In 2007, the statue was constructed at Machilipatnam. The amount of Rs 22 lakhs was spent to build the statue. The structure of Sai Baba is massive and divine. It is a sitting statue of Sai Baba and is headed by a hood of five serpents. The exact height of the biggest statue is 44 feet and its width is 45 feet. The name of the statue is mentioned in the India Book of Records as the biggest statue of Sai Baba. The statue is made by two sculptors Manikyala Rao and his son, Venkateswara Rao.

Timings

Generally, the temple is open on all days and there is no specific timing. But on Thursdays, the temple is open from 5:15 am to 10:30 pm. Palki Utsav is celebrated on every Thursday at 8:30 pm before evening aarti.

The nearest Airport is around 70 km located in Vijayawada.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Machilipatnam railway station which is well connected to all the major cities of India.

By Road

There are many government as well as private buses which connect Machilipatnam to other cities.
