History
Mounagiri Anjaneya Temple in the Anantapur area of Andhra Pradesh in India depicts the Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy’s spiritual powers. Devotees visiting here are believed to be attaining both spiritual and cultural knowledge immensely. Sri Eswaraiah Swamy, who was the spiritual leader of the Mounagiri Global Trust and Philosophical Society brought the structure of this temple with the help of 500 volunteers and also 1000 artisans. The sculpture work of the Hanuman idol is said to have cost the exchequer around 40 lakhs. Also, it is said that installation of the idol at the right place was done with much difficulty and efforts of the people who worked on the mammoth project.
The main structure situated at the center of the temple is of 36 feet (approx 11 m) high and is made of a single stone. The temple adores in a clean and peaceful environment of the City of Anantapur. No disturbance is observed from any corner. The financial constraints have stalled the temple work which is going on very slowly. Donors are expected from different corners for early completion of the construction.

The Hanuman idol which is of 36 ft is carved of a single stone. It is a philosophical Trust which is situated at about 18 kms from Anantapur, AP on the NH7 route towards Bangalore Further, this happens to be the biggest single stone Hanuman status in the entire South India. It is being readied for Pratishtha (inauguration). One can expect to be peaceful from all busy routine schedules and can feel the difference by visiting here. Hanuman who is also said to be the son of Air (Pavan Putra) has tremendous powers. We can see the crowd thronging the place during festivals and other important functions.
How to Reach the Place
Anantapur is an important place in Andhra Pradesh. It is easy to reach Bangalore via Air route from any place. From Bangalore it is around 2 hours’ drive to reach this place.
Many trains from various places run via Anantapur. Also within Andhra Pradesh there are several trains running to Anantapur.
Additionally, other local buses are available to commute to the temple town which is around 18 kms from the city. Local buses run by Private personnel are also available in plenty.
