Hanuman Murti In Shimla
The statue of Hanuman has a legend attached to it. People state that the Lord himself had decided to make a stop at Jhakoo and rest for a while, while he was out looking for the epic related Sanjeevani Booti.
Origin
The statue was constructed by humans as a result of the religious belief that most humans had in the place where the Monkey God had rested while he was on his way to the Himalayas, where he believed that he could find the Sanjeevani Booti which in turn could heal Laxman, the brother of Ram in Ramayana.

Jhakoo on being a Temple town is surrounded by vegetarian food chains. People of the region avoid non-vegetarian food items, therefore, the fact remains that a person in dire need of non-vegetarian food items has to travel for miles in order to get the food that he really wishes to have. Apart from this, although the region doesn’t have excellent restraints, good vegetarian food is found in every nook and corner of the town.

People or visitors are allowed to visit the statue of The Monkey Lord from 5 in the morning to 10 in the evening.

- Rail: The Shimla Railways and other express trains plying on the Delhi-Punjab-Shimla route make a stop at the Jhakoo junction which is close to the Jhakoo Hill.
