West Bengal Eden Gardens Stadium

History

- In the year of 1948, a player Mushtaq Ali was thrown out from the Indian cricket team due to participate in an unofficial cricket test match against Australian eleventh services. Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble took the highest wicket in this ground (both took 14 wickets). Javagal Srinath took eight wickets and player Ajit Agarkar took only seven wickets at this renowned ground.

Renovation
During the world cup of 2011, the v Gardens stadium underwent huge renovation. Reconstruction has been done to meet the international stadium standard, which is established by the ICC for world cup of 2011. The ICC postponed the England VS India cricket match due to insufficient renovation of Eden Gardens. The cricket match was scheduled on February 27, 2011 and was played in M Chinnaswamy stadium of Bengaluru. The match was declared tie as both team scored 338 runs in 50 overs.
