Faizabad Sports Complex is a popular international standard sports complex which is built along the National Highway 96, which is just few hundred meters far from the Faizabad Airport. This full name for this sports stadium is Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium. Operated by IOA, this stadium is owned by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Located conveniently in Faizabad, India, this stadium was owned by TBA that has capacity to accommodate 30,000 spectators.

The Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium is an international sports complex which has assorted facilities that encompass cricket field, Olympic size swimming pool, synthetic track, astro turf, hostel together with different other facilities. It is said that this sports stadium competes with an ultra modern sports stadium in Greater Noida. It is said that this stadium is one of the best and world class sports complex in Uttar Pradesh.

History

There is no such particular history that is associated with Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium, yet it has remained in much controversies. It is said that Lokayukta office received complain from Bhanu Pratap Singh from Faizabad who daringly accused the ministry and political parties of corruption during the construction of Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. As per the complaint, it was said that the sports minister had a nexus with the former director of sports Hari Om together with the former project manager, R.D. Prasad. It is said that he intentionally delayed the construction of this stadium which involved 86 crore, thereby paving a way for an escalation which resulted to 150 crore.

Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium is located on the national highway 96 which is the route for people who want to travel from Faizabad to Sultanpur highway. This stadium is just few hundred meters away from the Faizabad airport. On reaching the airport, you can hire a taxi or cab and reach Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium.

The other modes of transportation that you can opt for are public buses, auto rickshaws, rickshaw, taxis, and pre-paid cabs. It is also in close proximately to the Railway station and bus stand of Faizabad.

Bhim Rao Ambedkar International Sports Stadium is presently under construction. It is said that the government of Uttar Pradesh sanctioned 86 crore for its renovation. Presently this sports complex has a multipurpose hall, Olympic size swimming pool together with wrestling, taekwondo, table tennis, cricket, handball, badminton, basketball, hockey, volleyball, athletics, football etc. It is said that this stadium is one of the best stadiums in Uttar Pradesh which is of world class level and of international scale.
