Ground
The pitch of ground favors the batsman and thus due to this ground has witnessed some spectacular innings by world class batsmen. Also the smaller dimension of ground supports the batsman to score maximum runs. The highest ever score in Indian history of 414 runs was scored on this ground only by Indian team in match against Srilanka on 15 Dec 2009.The ground has got two ends Pavilion end and Airport end. All the adequate facilities for players and spectators are available on ground. The ground is known by name Racecourse, Corporation or municipal corporation ground. Vinod Makesana was the architect of this stadium.
Renovation of Ground
Madhavrao Scindia Cricket ground is undergoing a transition in which the ground will have an adjoining cricket ground and will become a part of world class sports complex. This complex will be having capacity to accommodate 40000 spectators and will have the area of 40 acres.The ground is 10 km away from Rajkot in Khanderi village on Jamnagar highway. The new construction will be well equipped with floodlights to conduct day- night matches. This new sports complex will not only have cricket ground but will have badminton & squash courts , basketball courts and swimming pool. Spectator of VVIP balconies can enjoy the match seating in his room. The balcony faces the ground and gives a clear view of the pitch at the ground.

- India has scored the historic highest ODI total of 441/7 on this ground against Srilanka in 2009.
- Another memorable event was partnership between Saurav Ganguly and Virendra Sehwag of 196 runs against West Indies.
- Dilshan Tilakratne was the highest scoring batsman on this ground that scored 160 against India on Dec 15, 2009.
- Venkatesh Prasad and RP Singh given remarkable performance here with 6 wickets and 4/ 35 respectively.
- The lowest ODI total on ground was scored by West Indies in match against Srilanka with score of 176/9 in 1998.

How to Reach
Rajkot railway station is in close vicinity to the stadium, so railway is easiest and reachable mode of transportation. Buses and private cars are also available to reach stadium. Rajkot airport is few kilometers from stadium and flights are available for all major cities in the country.
