Description In Brief
Chicken Vindaloo is one of the traditional chicken dishes and this spicy dish is very popular in Goa. This dish is made along with coconut vinegar and you can also add in its red hot chili peppers.
Time for preparation 30 minutes Time taken for cooking 60-90 minutes Number of people 4 Ingredients For Chicken Vindaloo Recipe:-
- 1 1/4 kg Chicken skinned and cut in 8 pieces
- 2 large Onions finely sliced
- 4 tsp Vinegar
- 5 cm piece Cinnamon Stick
- 2 to 4 Green Chilies slit and seeded (optional)
- 1/2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 3 tsp Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 kg, peeled- Small Potatoes
Grind to Paste With 2 tsp Of Vinegar
- 4 to 8Dried Red Kashmiri Chilies
- 2 1/2 cm piece Fresh Ginger Root
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
How To Make Chicken Vindaloo Recipe
- Foremost, you will be required to marinate chicken pieces along with turmeric powder and salt in 30 minutes.
- Now, you should prepare the powder of black pepper, red chilies, black jerra, mustard seeds, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon.
- Now, you should mix this Masala powder along with water. Meanwhile, you should also grind raisins and cashews together and you should set them aside.
- Take a kadhai or pan and you should heat oil in it.
- You will be required to sauté it through onion, until it gets brown in color.
- Now, you should add ginger and garlic and again sauté this for one minute.
- You should also add in this masala paste and you should continue to stir until the oil present in it gets separated.
- Now, add in it diced tomatoes and you should stir this for two minutes and add in it marinated chicken and allow the chicken to get coated well along with masala.
- Now, you should add in it salt and one and half cups of water. You should cover this and make sure that you cook it on a medium temperature until the chicken gets prepared.
- Now, add in it kishmish paste along with cashews and then you should remove this from heat.
- The dish is ready to be served and you should garnish this with coriander leaves.
