Whole Moong Curry
Brief Description
Whole Moong Curry is a kind of dry curry made with unpeeled moong beans. It is very nutritious as it is rich in fiber and proteins. This Whole Moong Curry goes very well with plain boiled rice.
Time to Prepare 10 minutes Cooking Time 40minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Whole Moong Curry
- Soaked overnight Whole Moong Dal in water - 1 cup
- Finely chopped onion – 1
- 1 clove of finely chopped garlic
- 1 medium finely chopped tomato
- 1 teaspoon of Cumin Seeds
- 2 teaspoon of Coriander Powder
- 2 teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Garam Masala Powder
- Salt acc to taste
- 2 teaspoon of Oil
- 2 teaspoon of Fresh Coriander
How To Make Whole Moong Curry
- Sauté soaked dal into pressure cooker with water till it gets soft.
- Now heat oil in a sauce pan. Put cumin seeds into the oil and fry them till it gets brown. Now add chopped garlic and onions to the oil and fry them till the color of onions becomes golden brown.
- Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder to the above mixture and fry them for about 1 minute.
- Now put finely chopped tomato and cook them until they get soft.
- Now add cooked moong dal into the above mixture along with salt and stir it properly.
- If required add water.
- The consistency of the curry should be thick.
- Cook the above mixture for about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Spread Garam Masala over the curry and mix it well.
