Rice Rava Upma
Brief Description
Rice Rava Upma is a very tasty and nutritious food for breakfast. You can easily make it at home. It is generally prepared from cream of rice and moong dal. You can add coriander leaves also for more flavors.
Time to Prepare 15 minutes Cooking Time 15 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients For Rice Rava Upma
- Cream of rice ( rice rava) - 1 1/4 cups
- Jeera (cumin seeds) - 1 1/2 teaspoon
- Halved red chilies - 2
- Yellow colored moong dal - 2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves – 5 to 6
- Vegetable oil – 7 to 8 teaspoon
- Salt acc to taste
How To Make Rice Rava Upma
- Take a skillet. Heat oil into it. Pour cumin seeds into the oil and fry them till their color changes to golden brown. Now pour curry leaves into the mixture and fry for about couple of seconds.
- Add water about 2 3/4 cups accompanied with moong dal and salt.
- Cover the skillet with lid. Sauté over medium flame. Check gradually that the dal is fried or not.
- Now slowly add rice rava to the above mixture. Mixing it properly to avoid lumps.
- Now cover the skillet with lid and cook over medium flame for about 8-9 minutes. Now take out the cover from the skillet and sauté till all the water gets evaporated.
- Serve the Upma by adding a spoon of ghee over it.
