From the society of Himachal Pradesh, music is undividable.  Music and dance are the factors around which the life of people of this area revolves.  Music is the best source to feel through the soul and also got relaxation from the hardness and worries comes in the life.

To hail the God at the time of festival, singing and dancing were entertained and also these dancing and songs are all related to religion. All the joys and expression of life like love, urge, and separation were described through the folk songs.  Without the use of any instruments, they were sung. Only simple type of instruments were used just as Manjira, Ruman, Daunsa, Algoja, Gajju, Sarnagi, Thali, Dhol, Dammama, Chimta, Shehnai, Tamaka, Jhanjh, Ghungru, Ektara, and Gramyang etc.

In the green valley, one can attract through these folk songs.  After the hard work done by people, these folk songs gave much more relaxation. In most of the areas with its neighborhood, the Himachal Pradesh encompasses. Being in the fast life, still some people in areas used the way of traditional living.  Their life is very simple and they are very fond of music.  No instruments were used in the folk music of Himachal Pradesh. To lighten the heart, these folk songs were sung.  After listening the songs, all the emotions of the heart were come out.

The theme of the folk music in Himachal Pradesh were separation, urge, and love.  The community of this state also entertained and starts dancing too.  At the time of season of festivals, the atmosphere of this state is too beautiful to render. Through the landscape that is mesmerized, the people and places were perfectly blends with melodious tunes.

The valley of Chamba echo through the songs like Roopshu and Junju Sukrat Bhunkh.  The most popular love songs ere Gangi, Sirmaur, Tappe, Kullu Laman, and the Mohna of Bilaspur.  These folk songs were sung as the warrior heroid deeds or also at the time of childbirth.  There were common songs, victory songs, and also praise songs to celebrate the music in Himachal Pradesh.  For the particular occasion, the way of singing is different in these folk songs.  The rhythms and pronunciation of the singers were liberal in the folk songs of Himachal Pradesh.  From the center of the heart, the rhythm of the folk songs were developed.
