Brief Description
Ghevar can be considering as a festival dish as it is prepared at the time of rakhi & teej especially in rajasthan. It is a yummy sweet Indian dessert. Ghevar is a proper rajasthani recipe. You can say that it is favorite recipe of people of Rajasthan because it is prepared at the time of maker sakranti, gangaur, teej etc. you can easily buy ghevar from any Indian market. ghevar can be a good recipe to make at your home. Follow instructions given below to make a perfect ghevar recipe at your home.
Cooking time 30 mins Preparation time 50 mins serves 5 person Ingredients For The Recipe
- 1 Table spoon Almonds (finely chopped)
- 4 Cups of flour
- 1 Cup of milk
- 2 Cups of ghee
- 1 Table spoon Saffron (soaked finely in milk)
- 1 Table spoon Pistachios (chopped)
- 1/2 Table spoon Yellow colour
- 1 Table spoon Cardamom powder
- 4 Cups of water
- 1 1/2 Cups of sugar
How To Make The Recipe
- Make a mixture of ghee, flour, milk and 3 cups water to prepare it better.
- Put some colour in the rest amount of water.
- Mix this coloured water into the mixture to batter.
- Take a cylindrical container of steel or may be aluminium.
- Take care of that the Cylinder must have height of 12” at least and 5-6” as diameter.
- Put ghee into it to fill it half and then heat it.
- Once ghee turns hot, pour your batter (1 glass) into the middle of ghee.
- Let foam to settle down.
- Again, pour batter into ghee (1 glass).
- Put ghewar again on mesh once foam turn set.
- Prepare syrup of sugar with consistency of one tar.
- To remove excess oil dip your ghevar into it.
- Keep it for a while to cool.
- Put saffron water into it, few drops
- Now sprinkle cardamom powder, pistachios and almonds into it.
- Your Ghevar is now ready.

Some Useful Tips
You need to purchase special ghevar mould for a delicious recipe. You can take a primus stove ring with a size of 4 [75milemiter (3”) as diameter] to make 25 ghevars. Either you can take large mould for several ghevars, but in that case, cooking period will exceed.
