Sirohi district is situated in the southwest part of Rajasthan State in India. The area of this district is 5139 sq. km and as a result it is recorded to be the third smallest district after Dungarpur and Banswara of Rajasthan. Sirohi covers about 1.52% total area of Rajasthan.

It is surrounded by Udaipur in the east, Jalore district in the west, Palli in the north-east and Banaskantha district of Gujarat in the south. The district stretches at the southwest part of Rajasthan between 24° 20' and 25° 17' North Latitude and 72° 16' and 73° 10' East Longitude.

Sirohi district is served by the main rivers such as, Jawai, krishnavati, bodi, Khari, Banas and kapalganga. Also, the district has main dams that are: KarodiDwaj, Angor, Girwar, Niboda, Banas, Oda, Danta and Chandela etc.

Historically, Sirohi means to protect self respect even if the head of an individual is separated. It is said that a Rajput of Sirohi can sacrifice his life for self respect thus; people started believing that it is the state of bravery. Also said that Sirohi name was taken from the Siranwa hill is situated on the western slope at the place where, it stands.

Tradition and culture of Sirohi is the Folk songs and Folk dances that entertain people of not only Sirohi as well as the tourist who visit the place. Also there are places of public interest that usually attract tourists such as, Mount Abu, Sorihi Temples and Sirohi Tirth Dham.
