Rajsamand district is one the districts in Rajasthan state in western India. In the year 1991 on April 10th the district was split from Udaipur district. The city of Rajsamand is the place where, the district headquarters is located. Geographically the district covers the area of 4,768km. The district is surrounded by Ajmer district to the north, on t the northeast and east by Bhilwara district, Chittorgarh district to the southeast and Udiapur district to the south. To the northwestern boundary forms the Aravali Range of the district.

In the 17th century an artificial lake was created by Rana Raj Singh of Mewar and named as Rajsamand Lake. Banas River is the place where, the district lies in watershed.
