Jhalawar district is situated in Rajasthan, on the northeast side by Baran district, on the south by Rajgarh district, on the northwest by kota district, Guna district of Madhya Pradesh state on to the east and Shajapur districts of Madhya Pradesh state and on the west by Ratlam, Mandsaur and Nimach districts of Madhya Pradesh state.

Jhalawar district comes under of Kota division. Its occupies the total area of 6928km. The administrative headquarters of the district is the city of Jhalawar. Hadoti region located in southeast of Rajasthan is the place where the Jhalawar district lies in.

On 8th of April, 1838 the Jhalawar district was separated and got rise of an agreement between English rulers, Kota state and Malwa State.

Gupt- & post- Gupt temples and Bhumij are some of the sacred and divine places of Jhalawar district. Also there is a huge collection of colorful paintings in Jhalawar Garh Palace and Jhalawar Museum.

District industrial center of Jhalawar was organized in June, 1978. DIC main motive is to provide facilities, financial services, guidance etc for the people of the district. Establishing Small scale industries, large scale industries and Industrial Growth center are the 3 main achievements of DIC.
