Boondi Raita
Brief Description
Boondi Raita is the most common variant of plain raita, prepared everyday in Indian homes and special occasions. Boondi Raita is salty and tasty, made with mixing curd and boondi, with salt as per taste. Boondi is a crispy drop of besan. Recipe for Boondi Raita is given below.
Preparation Time 10 minutes Cooking Time 10 minutes Serves 4 serves Ingredients for the recipe
- Besan - 1/2 Cup
- Curd - 3 cups
- 1 Sprig Curry leaves
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 2 tablespoon
- Oil for frying
- Salt as per taste
How To Make The Recipe
- In a bowl add ½ cup of Besan and salt. Then add water to make a mixture.
- In a big and deep pan heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and add the mixture of besan and salt to make round boondi.
- Fry until the boondi become golden brown.
- After removing excess oil, take out the boondi and mix with the curd or raita in a bowl.
- Then add masalas like red chilli powder, curry leaves and cumin powder for taste.
- Boondi raita is ready to serve.
Some Useful Tips
- Making boondi at home is time consuming and waste of resources as they are easily available in the market.
- Even while preparing boondi at home, if you don’t have enough resources or equipments then you can make use of a plastic pot like structure.
- You can also temper Raita to make it more delicious and smelling by adding a tadka of curry leaves and red chillies.
