Head of Meghalaya police is DGP that stands for “Director General of Police”. At present, there are 10,568 persons working under Meghalaya police serving different positions. Headquarter of police department is located in secretariat hill of Shillong.
Mission Statement of Meghalaya Police
Main objective of the Meghalaya police is to check crime, uphold justice, to confirm rules, ensure public order, and have honesty as well as truthfulness in public dealing. It becomes responsibility of the police department to maintain peace in the state. Meghalaya Police entrust safety as well as security of every citizen.
