Spicy Onion Pickle
Brief Description
Spicy onion pickle can be made with whole onions or chopped onions. This pickle is mainly eaten in winters as it is quite hot. Learn to make this recipe at home by following the steps given below.
Preparation Time 5 minutes Cooking Time 10 minutes Number of Serves 1 jar Ingredients For Spicy Onion Pickle
- Small pickling onions- 1.3 kg
- Sea salt- 50 g
- Habenero chilies- 4
- Mace- A few of them
- Sugar- 400 g
- Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
- White wine vinegar- 1.2
How To Make Spicy Onion Pickle
- Blanch the onions for 20 seconds with boiling water. Use cold water to cover them and peel them under water. Place them in a bowl and sprinkle with salt. Leave them like this for a night with the covers on.
- Next day take the onions and dry them before putting in a jar. Cut the chilies in half and put them in too.
- Now boil vinegar and sugar for a min and pour it all over the onions and seal the jar for 3-4 weeks.
