Spicy Carrot Pickle
Brief Description
Spicy pickled carrots are generally served in small quantities with Indian stuffed pranathas. It adds a whole dimension to the taste of food. Follow a few simple and easy steps mentioned below to make spicy pickled recipe at home.
Preparation Time 10 minutes Cooking Time 15 minutes Number of Serves 1 bottle Ingredients For Spicy Carrot Pickle
- Peeled and sliced large carrots- 2 lbs
- Diced and peeled garlic- 5 cloves
- Vinegar- 1 ½ cups
- Water- 1 ½ cups
- Bay leaves- 10
- Peppercorns- 8
- Salt to taste
- Pickled jalapenos- 6 oz.
How To Make Spicy Carrot Pickle
- Saute garlic in oil in a large saucepan. Toss in the carrots and fry them for 2-3 min. now add peppercorns, vinegar, bay leaves and salt. Let it simmer for 5 min and then add jalapenos and water. Let it cook for 10 min at low flames.
- Take off the flames and cool it. Transfer to an airtight container and store it in a fridge for the night.
Some Useful Tips
-
You may or may not remove bay leave after the spicy carrot pickle is ready. Just don’t eat them.
