Brief Description
Sattu Paratha is a famous Bihari recipe. It is most popular in Bihar. It is good to have in summers as sattu prevents us from heat strokes. You can also have sattu ka paratha along with curd or pickle.
Ingredients of Sattu Paratha
For Stuffing
- Sattu ( Roasted Chana Dal Powder) 2 cups
- Finely Chopped Garlic -5 cloves
- Finely Chopped Medium Sized Onion -2
- Clean and Grated Ginger- 1 inch
- Finely Chopped Green Chili- 3
- Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves - 2 tablespoon
- Lime Juice- 2 tablespoon
- Carom Seeds -1/2 tablespoon
- Amchur Powder – 1 tablespoon
- Salt Acc to Taste
- Mustard Oil -2 tablespoon
For Dough
- Whole Wheat Flour- 3 cups
- Oil/ Ghee -2 tablespoon
- Salt -1/4 tablespoon
Total Preparation Time 15 minutes Total Cooking Time 25 minutes Servings 4 How to make Sattu Paratha
- In a bowl mix whole wheat flour with water. Knead it well to make soft dough.
- Keep it aside for some time.
- Now make stuffing: collect all the ingredients in a big bowl and mix it well.
- Now divide the dough into small and equal portions, make balls and give them a disc shape.
- In the center of the disc, place a portion of mixture.
- Then collect the edges of the disc and seal them properly.
- Make a ball again and roll it softly.
- Now preheat the tava, place the disc over it, apply oil to its edges.
- Cook till the color changes on both sides light golden brown.
- Serve hot with curd or sauce.
