Brief Description
Matar Parantha is an ideal recipe for breakfast. You can serve it with curd or any kind of pickle.
Ingredients of Matar Paratha
For Dough
- Whole Wheat Flour (Atta)- 2 2/3 cup
- Maida - 11/3 cup
- Salt Acc To Taste
- Ghee/ Butter- 1/3 cup
- Warm Water as Per Requirement.
For Stuffing
- Oil – 2 table spoon
- Fresh Ginger- 1 tablespoon
- Minced Green Chilies- 1to 3
- Asafetida Powder (Hing) – ¼ tablespoon.
- Cooked & Coarsely Mashed Mutter (Green Peas) - 21/2 cup
- Garam Masala - 2 tablespoon
- Red Chili Powder - 1/4 tablespoon
- Salt Acc To Taste
- Lemon Juice - 2 tablespoon
- Jaggery (Gur) - 2 tablespoon
- Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves
- Oil/ Butter for Frying.
Total Preparation Time 15 minutes Total Cooking Time 30 minutes Servings 4 How to make Matar Paratha
- Mix wheat flour, maida, ghee, and salt acc to taste in a bowl and mix it with water. Do this 30 minutes before. Cover it with wet muslin cloth. Keep aside.
- For stuffing: Put some oil in a fry pan. Preheat the oil over low flame. Put ginger and green chillies into it.
- Fry ginger until the color changes to brown. Then sprinkle some hing over it. After few seconds add the cooked peas to it.
- Now add other ingredients to it and fry for about 2 minutes. Now remove the pan from the burner and keep aside to cool. Now make 10 equal portions of this mixture.
- Now make 2 medium sized chapati, place one portion of mixture to the middle of the chapatti, cover it with the second chapati.
- Now seal the edges of the chapatti carefully.
- Roll the chapatti by a roller pin softly.
- Cook the roll on a pre heat griddle.
- Apply some oil/ butter to the paratha. Cook until colour changes to brown. Repeat same process on the other side.
- Serve mattar paratha hot with curd or any kind of chutney as you like.
