Sohan Papdi/Pateesa
Brief Description
Soan papdi is one of the famous sweet that is made all over India and South Asia. Soan papdi is a flakey and crispy texture and more popular in South Asia such as India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. It is made from besan, maida, milk, ghee, water, cardamom and sugar which attract kids a lot.
Time to Prepare Minutes - 7-10 Time for cooking Minutes - 25-30 Serves 4 Ingredients For Soan Papdi/Pateesa
- Besan (gram flour) - 1-1/4 cup
- Maida (all-purpose flour) - 1-1/4 cup
- Water - 1-1/2 cup
- Milk - 2 tbsp
- Ghee - 250 gms
- Sugar - 2-1/2 cups
- Cardamom seeds (crushed coarsely) - 1/2 tsp
- Charmagaz - 2 tsp
- square pieces of thin polythene sheet - 4 Inches
How to make Soan Papdi:
- Add maida and besan and mix together.
- In a pan, Heat ghee on average heat and add mixture to it. Roast it till it slight golden color.
- Set it to cool slightly and keep stirring continuously.
- Now prepare syrup mix sugar, milk and water. Bring syrup to 2-1/2 thread consistency. Add it into the mixture.
- Blend nicely with heavy fork till the mixture leaves thread as flakes.
- Now move onto greased surface and make 1 inch roll thickness.
- Mix cardamom and charmagaz and press it with your palm.
- Divide it into 1 inch square shape and set it to cool.
- Put it separately of plastic sheet.
- Place it in an airtight container.
