Valley Of Flowers National Park
Valley of Flowers National Park is one of the most renowned and famous national park of India and it is situated at western Himalayan region. Moreover, this park is famous for alpine endemic flowers and you can also check out some of flora varieties as well. This is situated at Uttrakhand and you would also get to view some of the amazing endangered animals here and that includes black Asiatic bear, blue sheep, brown beer and snow leopard as well. It has been constructed over an area of 88 km² and they also comprise of Biosphere reserve and that has been surrounded through buffer zone too. This reserve is present in Biosphere reserve of UNESCO from year 2004. Moreover, you would get to view some of the beautiful works done by botanists and famous mountaineers and they have been popular in the Hindu religion as well. This is one of the national parks that are having beautiful flowers and you can check out some of the amazing shades as well. History
According to the facts, this place was not present on tourist map and this was mainly due to the inaccessibility region. R.L. Holdsworth, Eric Shipton and Frank S. Smythe, these were British mountaineers and had lost their route during the expedition time from Mt. Kamet and now this valley is known as full from flowers. They were attracted to this magnificent place and then they give this name- Flowers valley and you can also find a book of the same name as well. It was in year 1939, when Margaret Legge, she was a botanist by profession and was deputed through Botanic Royal Gardens located at Edinburgh. She had arrived at this place for the purpose of conducting further studies and she had also collected some flowers and that were lost through her. It was her sister who visited this valley and then she found memorial at this place.
Best Time To Visit
This is one of the places that open up only in the June beginning and it is opened till the September end. Moreover, this is covered through snow entire year. Visitors are recommended that they should plan their visit to this place during the monsoon time and they should avoid going to this place before the month of July, as they would not find any flowers at this place. You would get to see the amazing view of melting glaciers and during the mid August time, valley color would start changing on its own and that would become green to yellow and then flowers will start dying. Temperature is very cold during the early morning and late nights.

In order to visit this place, you need to board a flight from Grant jolly airport that is present at Dehradun and this is present at a distance of 290 kms. You can also plan to travel in train and Rishikesh is the only bordering railway station. You can also visit this nation park through the help of road transport and nearest destination to this place is Govind ghat. You can enjoy trekking at this place and go through the steep mountain ranges in order to reach Ghangaria that is base camp.
How To Get There
If you are planning to visit this place and then do trekking of approximately 17 kms and Joshimath is the adjacent town and it is located at Garhwal. It has been equipped with convenient transport connections and they are from Dehradun and Haridwar and they are only 270 kms through Joshimath. You can also plan your trip to the Govindghat and this is located adjacent to Joshimath. From Govinddhat, trekking would start that is of 14 kms and trekkers have to come at Ghangaria and that is located close to valley and that would gorge over Pushpawati River.
Things To Do In - National Park
Visitors can plan their trip to Hemkund Sahib and it is only six kilometers through Ghangharia. This is one of the religious and ancient Sikhs places. You would get to view here poppies, daisies, calendulas, orchids and anemones. This place is also popular for some of the amazing Brahmakamal, cobra lily and blue poppy and other rare species as well. You would be required to visit this place during the timings of morning 6 am to evening 6 pm and last entry would be done during the 3 pm.

It is highly recommended that you should stay one night at Joshimath and then only plan for Ghangharia. Government is also running GMVN that is Garhwal Vikas Mandal Nigam. These are basically guest houses and you can also make the advance bookings for same. You would get plethora of options at this place and that is inclusive of camping and hotel facilities. You may have trouble in water supply and electricity. Visitors would be required to make the payment of Rs.950 for stating in deluxe rooms. You can also have fun related activities at camp.

The months of July till August are considered best for visiting this place and you can easily do trekking as well. This area receives an average rainfall of approximately 1800mm and it is present an elevated height is 3251 to 6251 meters through sea level. 17 degree centigrade is the maximum temperature and it goes lower till 7 degree centigrade.
