Sirohi National Park

The Sirohi National Park is Located in the Manipur state which is a north Eastern Indian state. The park is covering an area of around 41 sq km in the east Imphal district of Manipur. It is a kind of a forest reserve which was established as a national park in the year 1982. The place has a great significance as it is the only natural habitat of the Sirohi Lily or LiliumMaclineae. The popular Sirohi Lily is found to be grown naturally here and nowhere else in the world. A Sirohi peak is located in this forest reserve and on that peak during the monsoon season, in the month of May and June the Sirohi Lily is grown. The peak covered with the beautiful Sirohi lily looks so beautiful. The entire valley bloom with these beautiful flowers making the place a beautiful heaven.

The Sirohi National park is found to be located on the Indo-Myanmar border. It is a perfect habitat for a large variety of wild life.  The commonly found species of animals in this region are Wild Boar,Tiger, Leopard and deer and several other antelopes. The avifauna usually found here are Owls, Vultures, Warblers, pheasants, tits, eagles etc. The Park offers an undisturbed ecosystem to the wild life.

The nearest railhead to the park is Dimapur which is 270 kilometers away from the forest reserve area. Guwahati is 469 Kilometers away from the park and Delhi is at a distance of 2503 kilometer.

By Air

The Julial airport of Manipur is the nearest airport located at a distance of 50 kilometers from the park.

By Rail

The nearest railhead to the park is Dimapur which is 270 kilometers away from the forest reserve area.

By Road

The state capital Imphal is 53 kilometers away from the park. It is well connected to all the major cities like Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati by road as well as via flight.

Things to Do in Sirohi National Park

Visit Sirohi - Khayang Peak

The Khayang peak is the highest peak located in the region. It is the ideal spot for trekking. The kahayang peak has an elevation of 3114 meters above sea level. The peak offers enchanting and mesmerizing views from the top to the adventurers. Another high peak located in the Sirohi National park is SirohiKashung Peak. It has a height of 2835 meters above the level of sea. The endangered species of the beautiful Sirohi Lily is found in abundance here.

Sirohi - Khangkhui Cave

Khangkhui cave is a Historical cave where many villagers took shelter during the Second World War. It is a cave made up of natural limestone.  Many tourists visiting Imphal love to explore this place. The caves have a very big hall which is referred as the Darbar hall and it is said that it is the place where the devil King resides. A large chamber located towards the North of the Darbar hall is considered to be the bedroom of the devil. These caves are located amidst the hilly tracts and haunting woods.

Sirohi - Ukhrul Town

The nearest town to Sirohi National Park is the Ukhrul Town.  The visitors visiting the remote border area of the reserved forest can avail many facilities from the Ukhrul Town. The town is well connected to Imphal the capital of the state.
