Silent Valley National Park

Palakkad, Nilgiri hills are popular for Silent Valley National Park and they are situated in Kerala which is a part of southern India. It was in year 1847 when this park was recognized by Robert Wight. He was a botanist by profession and he belonged to the Hindu religion. This is one of the most famous parks and it is situated in southern western region and you can find here some of the most beautiful evergreen forests. It has been proposed to establish the National park Karimpuzha and that would be located in the northern region i.e. 225 km². Another one is National Park Mukurthi and that would be established in the northern eastern region i.e. 78.46 km². This region is situated in International Nilgiri Biosphere reserve i.e. 1455 km². Certainly, this is popular as Heritage site and World of Western Ghat. It is being evaluated by UNESCO. Hydroelectric project was also planned and that would have the extensive wildlife diversity. In fact, this project was stimulated through the Social environmentalist movement that was done in 1970s. The main aim of this project was to save this park and ultimately entire project was cancelled, during the time of 1980. Sairandhri is main centre of attraction for all the visitors.

Pandavas had to go through the exile period of 1 years and during that time they went to southern region, Kerala and then to Magical valley as well. During the period of 1927 till 1976, this forest silent valley was going through the operations of forestry. It was in year 1928, that Kunthipuzha River that was present at the Sairaandhri was one of the perfect locations for carrying out the generation of power.
