Kanha National Park
Combination of sal (Shorearobusta) and more mixedtrees of forest, widespread with pasture land covers the lowland forest. The drymoist tropical deciduous type and a totally distinct nature withslopes covered with bamboo (Dendrocalamusstrictus) covers the highlevel land.
The mainvarietiesat Kanha National park is the majestic tiger.In the food chain, the tertiary carnivores include theleopards and the big cats tigers. Generally glimpsedcarnivores at the park arewild cat,the jackal, big cats wild dogs and the fox.
The Hard Ground Barasinghaor Swamp Deer is one of the deer varieties which is the honour of this park as it is among the onesleftover sub varieties of this kind of deer(CervusDuavcelliBranderi) in the country. The animals that adapt the hard places and not the North’sswamp deers that are found on the marshy areas. Some reptiles that too are active at the night time and hence are rarely spotted are such ascobras,rat snakes,grass snakes,pythosn, vipers,krait and keelbacks. A number of vareities of amphibians and turtles are alsoglimpsed around the water bodies present in the park.
Mandla and Balaghat
Banjar(300 km²) andHallon(250km2) are the 2 sanctuaries in which area of Kanha was divided in 1930. In 1955,on the 1 of June,Kanha was founded. At present Kanhacomprises of 2 districts Balaghat and Mandla and is spread across 940 km² of an area. Along with the surroundingSanctuaryof Phenwhich is 110 km² in area is theTiger Reserve of Kanha and a neighbouringzone ofbuffer that is about1,067 km² and which contributes to making Kanha,Central India’s biggest National Park.
The major population of the park comprises of leopards,Barasinghathe sloth bear, Indian wild dogand Royal Bengal Tiger. The bamboo forests and lush sal,ravines and grassy meadows of Kanha offered the motivation to "Jungle Book ",the popular novel by the writer Rudyard Kipling.

The Park has 3 entry gates. The mostly used is theKisli gate from the place ofJabalpur that ceases at the in the fender area of Khatiavillage. Another gate is at the Mukki and the third which is the newly formed one is towardsSerai.
