Govind Pashu Vihar

In 1955, Govind Pashu Vihar was brought into reality as a wildlife asylum & is a division of Upper Tons Valley. Original name was Tons and later altered to Govind Pashu Vihar following announcement. In 1991 Uttar Pradesh Government notified its purpose of represent division of the asylum as Govind National Park amid a core region of 472.08 km2. The area of Govind Pashu Vihar is wealthy in its past & legends. Though, several of these are opposing to comparable tradition which are well-liked in extra divisions of the country. As an example, though the Pandavas (the Mahabharata heroes) are well thought-out the moral ones in most parts of Indian country, citizens here are impressed by the Kauravas (the offenders) & adore them like gods. History

This park is extended around a region of 192 km2 in District Uttarkashi. Closest town is Dharkadhi at seventeen km distant away from here. Dehradun is the nearby airport and it is located around 190 km and also the rail head.

Park Forest has Chirpine, scour steamy Euphorbia scrub & oak classes.

The untamed species seen in the park include panther leopard, snow leopard, leopard cat, the brown & the black Himalayan bear, fishing cat, musk deer, serow, thar, bharal, goral, sambar, wild boar, and so on. The birds seen here include monal, snow pigeon, and green pigeon. Ideal time to come here is from Month of May to October Month. Rest house lodging is accessible.

Flora

Main floral kind seen in the sanctuary include chir pine (Pinus roxburghii), cedar (Cedrus deodara), oak (Quercus spp.) & various broad-leaved varieties. Going more than 2,600 m higher sea level, individual may see blue pine (Pinus wallichiana), spruce (Picea smithiana), silver fir (Abies pindrow), yew (Taxus baccata), & broad-leaved classes like oaks (Quercus spp.), horse chestnut (Aesculus indica), maples (Acer spp.), walnut (Juglans regia), hazel (Coryllus jacquemontii) & rhododendron (Rhododendron spp.).

Fauna

The Govind Pashu Vihar park is as well the natural home of numerous ranges of fauna with red panda, brown bear, bharal, Himalayan palm civet, sambhar, serow, Sikkim vole, snow leopard, Indian porcupine, barking, Himalayan rat, musk deer, deer, common otter,  goral, hedgehog, Hodgson's fly squirrel, & wild boar

Distance From Govind Pashu Vihar

How To Get There

Naitwar, the access to the sanctuary, is linked by a metalled all-climate street. This place is around two hundred km distant from Dehradun. It may also be reached starting Delhi through sixty five-km long divergence from Naugaon located on the Delhi-Yamunotri state thoroughfare. Every day bus facility is available between Dehradun & Naitwar. Dehradun is as well the closest rail & airhead.
