Indian Air Force Museum Palam Delhi
To visit the museum of Indian Air Force at Palam is an exclusive experience for a fan of aviation. This museum is located at the outer area of the New Delhi, capital of India. This museum is located just in a few distances from the city center. To reach this museum, one has to put well efforts but that going to be worth.
This museum is the unique museum in all over the country except the introduction of the Goa Naval Air Museum recently. The Museum of IAF also approached a full picture of the Indian military aviation from the past history from the initial World War I when the aviators of India flew the Royal flying corps up to the operations of the Kargil. Actual aircraft, models, mementoes, pictures, souvenirs etc regaled the visitors.
History
Before the introduction of the Naval Aviation Museum in Goa in year 1998, this museum was going to be the unique museum in India.
Collections
To maintain the airworthy conditions of the aircraft, Vintage Aircraft Flight provides services and strives in a limited manner on a regular basis that is a rare example. The Vintage Aircraft Flight personnel tried their best to make the flying aircraft maintained even in the short of the funds. The transport aircrafts were remained stay outside the museum due to the lack of the hanger space in the air station of the Palam that is far distance for a visitor. Visitors are not able to see these magnificent giants flying objects as this air station is operational except for only Air Force Day when this station is open for all visitors.
This museum also has souvenirs corner from which the visitors those are interested in taking some part of these aviation from the past history can buy bottle openers, key chains, postal covers, chinaware, or souvenir t-shirts etc.
Exhibitions
There is also an indoor gallery located inside the museum that carries the air force pictorial history holding the uniforms, personal weapons, memorabilia of different time line. Visitors also have opportunity to see the actual aircraft of the special periods that is showing on the hanger situated in the museum. Other than the equipments of the aircraft, there were also some anti aircraft gungs, assorted items, vehicles, and ordnance equipment. Those aircrafts that are very large in size are showed on the apron that is located outside of the museum. There is also exhibition of Radar equipment, captured enemy vehicles, and war trophies on the outdoor gallery.

The War Memorial
There is a path that shows the signs of the memories of the IAF war just upon the entrance to the museum. It reads

To decorate the pylon’s background, there is a first Gnat named S.No. IE 1059 by the IAF that aimed to the sky and just a distance far, there is also silent tribute standing for the memories of the war of IAF for the persons that never come back. There were additional tributes to the persons like NJS Sekhon statue, tail section of Sukhoi-7 that is a fight bomber that was bought by HS Mangat who is a Wg Cdr.
How to Reach
At the Palam Air Force Station, this museum is situated just inside. To reach the station, one can get the regular taxi and bus service. The route of the bus is through Najafgarh village or Palam village.
