Darshan Museum
Sindhi Saint Sadhu T L Vaswani was not only a genius but also a well-known humanitarian whose footsteps every one in the world would like to follow. Darshan Museum in Pune is established by his followers, particularly at the initiative of another equally humane and philonthrophicallywell spoken Sadhu J P Vaswani, who promoted a mission called The Sadhu Vaswani mission. It is this mission which has pioneered Darshan Museum in a space of 10000 sq ft.
The museum communicates the life and teaching of Sadhu T L Vaswani, which every visitor will enjoy to listen, admire and get inspired too.
History
The Brotherhood Association was the name of this noble organisation initiated and conducted by Sadhu T L Vaswani, who was the the spiritual head of large section of people belonging to Sindhi community. When he died, his followers named the mission as Sadhu Vaswani Mission to take up philanthropic initiatives concerned with education of people, health related activities, rural upliftmentetc besides Spiritual advancement among people. These activities were accompanied by a few programmes like feeding the needy through community kitchens. The mission was led by another noted modern saint J P Vaswani, who is referred as Dadaji, considering him as the elder brother by the followers.
Darshan Museum is the prime location of all these activities, where a number of communicative programmes are conducted spreading the message of Sadhu T L Vaswani.
It took two full years to get this museum organised in the first floor of the Vaswani building.
Collections
Darshan Museum organisers have equipped themselves a number of museum related items, such as mannequins of real life size, holographic screens, modern audio-visual devices, which include a number of films to be screened for the devoted visitor.
Among the collections, NooriGranth a series of hymns which Sadhu T L Vaswani used to sing , is a remarkable possession of this museum.
The collections of the museum include over 100 books written by Sadhu Vaswani.
Exhibitions
Visitors to Darshan Museum are exposed to a sound and light show, which produce narrative style of conveying messages, in some sections in the form of a dialogue. These shows are rendered both in English language and also in Hindi.
The Museum tour includes a show on the Life history of Sadhu Vaswani, the events relating to his spiritual awakening and his teachings.
There is also a photo gallery in the museum which is exclusive for show casing SadhuVaswani’s contributions to the community, besides a video show on the last rites rendered to him by his followers.
In deference to the wishes of the present spiritual leader Dadaji, a film show on the Mission of the organisation is also screened to the visitors, the total time taken for the Darshan Museum tour being about 90 minutes.
How to Reach
Darshan museum is located at the Connaught road Pune, which is closer to Pune Railway Station, in about 3 km distance. Likewise, Pune Airport is about 8 km distance reachable in 15 minutes.
Pune can be reached by air, rail and road, well connected with all the three modes.
Timings and Ticket Prices
Darshan museum is open to public from 11 am to 7 pm all the days of the week, except Thursdays. The admission is free. The shows will be screened every hour.
