Trisul
Trisul mountain peak forms the part of three major mountain ranges of Himalayan that are located in the Kumaon region among of this the highest peak goes up to an elevation of 7120 meters. These three peaks together form the part of trident as per the Hindu and Sanskrit religion and this trident also referred as Trishul is the defensive arm of Lord Shiva. This trident is formed in the southern east part of the collection of peaks that jointly forms the Nanda Devi Sanctuary located towards the west-southwest at a distance of 15 km from Nanda Devi. The first peak of this group is the Trishul I that elevates to the height of 7000 meters and this peak was climbed during 1907.
Trisul and its Neighbouring Peaks
The three major peaks of this range are Trishul I, Trishul II and Trishul III. The major ridge is the north-south ridge that comprises of Trisul I located in the northern direction whereas Trisul III is located in the southern direction. This mountain ridge is trampled when seen through the southern part located in Ranikhet and Kausani whereas it is more expanded towards the Southern-east part that includes Chamoli and Bedinin Bugyal.
At a distance of few kilometres is the Nanda Ghunti located towards the northern-west part whereas towards the southern-eats part is situated Mrigthuni.
The peak was first time trekked by T.G. Longstaffin in 1905 from the west and south end and he completed his trek and returned in 1907 along with three Alpine guides, two Britons and few Gorkhas.
